Thermally Induced Clamping Force Deviations in a Sensory Chuck for Thin-Walled Workpieces

چکیده
Abstract Deviations between nominal and actual tolerances are a challenging problem during turning processes of thin-walled workpieces. One main cause these deviations is the clamping force applied by chuck to hold workpiece. Due low stiffness workpieces, large workpiece deformations can occur even when forces low. For this reason, needs be precisely adjusted. A possible approach chucks with integrated actuators. As result more direct power transmission, have potentially higher accuracy compared conventional external actuation. However, actuators additional heart sources resulting in thermal loads thermally induced components. mechanical distortion system, precise adjustment not possible. Thus, paper evaluates on novel four electric drives. test bench used analyse both single drive combination all drives regarding temperature effect adjustability. deviation up 26% observed. Based measured temperature, compensation method introduced leading 96.9%.

Thermally induced crystallization in NbO2 thin films
Niobium dioxide can exhibit negative differential resistance (NDR) in metal-insulator-metal (MIM) devices, which has recently attracted significant interest for its potential applications as a highly non-linear selector element in emerging nonvolatile memory (NVM) and as a locally-active element in neuromorphic circuits. In order to further understand the processing of this material system, we ...
متن کاملVariable Clamping Force Control for an Inteligent Fixturing
An Intelligent Fixturing System (IFS) is currently being developed to hold a family of thin-walled workpieces for machining operations. This is a cost-effective system which uses off-line optimisation of the clamps location and on-line adjustment of clamping forces. As adaptive clamping forces appropriate to the dynamic machining environment are employed, the IFS offers higher quality of machin...
متن کاملThermally induced wrinkling in thin-film stacks on patterned substrates
Thermally induced film wrinkling is a fabrication and reliability challenge for thin-film stacks consisting of a compliant film capped by a stiffer film. The current understanding of film wrinkling is largely restricted to thin-film stacks on blanket substrates. An understanding of wrinkling in thin-film stacks on patterned substrates is of greater practical relevance to the microelectronic ind...
متن کاملThermally induced transient trigeminal sensory neuropathy: imaging findings.
We report the clinical and imaging features of a patient with transient partial trigeminal sensory neuropathy thought to have been induced by thermal injury to the tongue. Abnormal thickening and enhancement of the mandibular division of the trigeminal nerve was revealed by MR imaging. The diagnostic considerations for mass-like enlargement of the trigeminal nerve should include transient/infla...
متن کاملThin-Walled Tubes
The axial crushing of thin-walled tubes has been the subject of extensive research in the past. The existing kinematic models for predicting crushing behavior of axially loaded thin-walled tubes are systematically reviewed and analyzed. The advantages and limitations of each model are discussed. A new chain link model for circular tubes and square tubes is presented and studied in detail. Unlik...
